Stefanie’s career is proof that true artistry is not about following trends but creating worlds. She doesn’t manipulate her Polaroids, nor does she bend her artistic principles to fit commercial molds. Stefanie Schneider received her MFA in Communication Design at the Folkwang Schule Essen, Germany. Her work has been shown at the Museum for Photography, Braunschweig, Museum für Kommunikation, Berlin, the Institut für Neue Medien, Frankfurt, the Nassauischer Kunstverein, Wiesbaden, Kunstverein Bielefeld, Museum für Moderne Kunst Passau, Les Rencontres d'Arles, Foto -Triennale Esslingen, Bombay Beach Biennale 2018.
Stefanie Schneider’s Polaroid art ignited a spark in Florian Kaps, revealing beauty in imperfection and inspiring him to save the dying medium. Her ability to create something timeless from the fleeting, unpredictable nature of Polaroid film drove him to found The Impossible Project. Without her work, Polaroid might have been lost to history. Through her lens, she preserved a raw, unpolished truth, proving that art’s power lies not in perfection, but in the fragile moments it captures. Stefanie’s legacy is not just in her images, but in the resurrection of a photographic icon.
