Hannes Messemer's Memorabilia is a b/w photographic postcard representing a portrait of the German actor, with the additional value of a blue marker autograph. Around the 1960s.
Excellent condition.
Hannes Messemer, born Hans Edwin Messemer (Dillingen an der Donau, 1924 - Aachen, 1991)
German actor, prolific character actor, active on the big screen since the mid-1950s, Hannes Messemer specialized in the roles of German officers in films about the Second World War, an experience he had personally experienced as a soldier sent to Stalingrad for punishment, and then as a prisoner of the Soviet.
He collaborated in two films directed by Roberto Rossellini, Il Generale Della Rovere (1959), in the role of the Nazi colonel Müller, for which he received a special mention at the Venice Film Festival, and the following year in Era Notte a Roma (1960), in the role of Colonel Von Kleist. His most internationally known interpretation was that of Colonel Von Luger, commander of the prison camp in the film The Great Escape (1963).
