Viet Chu
The Long Night - NYC Skyline Photography, 30"x40", Signed Limited Edition of 10

2020

About the Item

" I took this picture when New York was the epicenter of the Covid pandemic in the U.S., to reflect the idea that the nights are always darkest before they turn bright. As it turned out, I was a night or 2 away from NYC having the highest death tolls in the U.S. It was raining, and the street was empty and the lights were perfect, but I still needed a human element to tell the right story. We New Yorkers were told to stay inside, but as a photographer I felt a draw to tell a visual story. I could not believe my eyes when I saw this person slowly walked up to the light and started to walk across. What made it perfect was the fact that he/she was pulling a bag while holding an umbrella. I knew I had my shot at that moment. When I posted this image on instagram, I made sure to thank all the brave men and women in the front line of the pandemic. We are grateful...🙏 " Viet Chu is a world traveler for photographic assignments. He finds beauty in life’s special moments in time, capturing each with his unique photographic style. Miami Skirt. Black and White Architectural Landscape Photograph
By Luca Artioli
Located in Miami Beach, FL
Miami 2014 by Luca Artioli From the series "Miami Skin" Image size 45 in. H x 70 in. W. Archival Pigment Print Edition of 5 Miami Skin is one of the few “Still photo” project realized only in Black and White. It’s not a traditional collection of photos about the architecture of Miami and Miami Beach. It’s rather a quick journey between its own skin from the Art Deco District to the modern skyline of our days. Stripes, circles, squares, reflections show only some details of important buildings but they all have the power to arise emotions and unexpected shapes and volumes inside us. A final touch is reserved for nature skin from the ocean to the tropical vegetation. You need now to make an effort of imagination to discover and compose all pictures and eventually frame it in your own mind. _________________ Luca Artioli, an artist, poet and photographer recognized in Europe and around the world, has worked for years in the most vital artistic circles of world culture, such as La Scala Opera House in Milan, The Wolfsonian Museum in Miami during Art Basel, Hermès in Paris...
