Villanueva was born in California to Mexican migrant workers, and grew up in Mexico. This work was completed at Self Help Graphics in Los angeles. Signed, titled unique monotype screenprint.
Villanueva’s work explores and expresses the interconnections between the cognitive territories of knowledge, experience, memory, and imagination; all factors informing our identity. He believes the nature of art is evidenced in its ability to traverse ages, cultural domains, and typological worldviews.
