The images in my paintings are not only drawn from visual inspiration, but from memory, dreams, travel, nature and reverie as well as the intuitive process of painting. I am interested in connecting the poetic image with the painted and in the metaphysical content of the painting. Color and Light are of foremost importance in my work." - Joan Thorne
