Tantrika is an original Contemporary Artwork realized by Karel Appel (Amsterdam, 1921 – Zurich, 2006) in 1985 Hand signed in pencil on the lower right margin in pencil: Appel. Numbered on the lower left corner in pencil: 51/75 (there was also a sub edition of 10 specimens, numbered in roman numbers. Very good conditions, except for some diffused foxing on lower parts. Karel Appel (Amsterdam, 1923) is one of the most important exponent of European Expressionism. In 1948 he founded Co.Br.A mouvement with Corneille, Jorn, Constant and Alechinsky; they gave life to an interesting Informal art mouvement in North-Europe characterized by the use of violent colours, the abstract compositions and the retrieval of Scandinavian traditions.
