Ned Martin
"Again, " Limited Edition Giclee Print, 45" x 60"

2021

About the Item

This large, abstract limited edition print by Ned Martin features a hummingbird as the central focus. The hummingbird is varying shades of blue and warm orange tones, while an abstracted background layers silver and blue squares next to, and overtop of, one another. Areas of the hummingbird's wings and body are also painted with a similarly geometric execution, harmonizing the composition overall. This Limited Edition giclee print is an edition size of 100. Printed on canvas, it ships framed in a warm silver floater frame, and is wired and ready to hang. The print itself measures 45" x 60" with an additional 2" added by the frame. Other floater frame options are available in gold, black, white, and walnut. For additional sizes and alternate frame options, please contact us. The artist has granted permission to Sorelle Gallery to create his Limited Edition prints. They are printed with pigment ink on a Premium Fine Art Matte Canvas and designed to meet museum longevity requirements and ensure consistency. Your giclee print will come with a Certificate of Authenticity and ships for free. Located in Brooklyn, Ned Martin is inspired by hectic city life. His work touches on the subjects of nature and community, which are drawn from his childhood memories of rural Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland. Martin’s work is a commentary on the global society, and the idea that everything is connected as one. After studying Fine Arts at Towson State University in Maryland, Martin continued his formal art training at the Schuler School of Fine Arts in Baltimore. Embracing his training and his meticulous process, Martin grinds his own paints. He has painted en plein air on the River Seine in Paris, Scotland, and Italy, all of which have shaped his artistic vision. Ned Martin says of his work, “I have long believed artists are like mirrors. My job is to reflect that which others are missing while they go about their busy lives. I somehow wish my paintings were less biased, yet, my own emotions from life experiences are in every painting I create. While I still struggle with the idea, I must be completely honest that every painting is a self-portrait.”

  • "Bramble, " Limited Edition Giclee Print, 36" x 36"
    By Elwood Howell
    Located in Westport, CT
This abstract limited edition print by Elwood Howell features a cool, unique palette. Shapes that resemble thick foliage form a loose horizon line, with deep blue, violet, green, and specks of pink forming the bottom area of the piece. Above is a muted color that transitions out toward the edges to form the aesthetic of a glowing blue sky. An edition of 100, the limited edition giclee it is printed on canvas, and framed in a warm silver floater frame ready to hang. Limited Edition prints are printed with pigment ink on a Premium Fine Art Matte Canvas and designed to meet museum longevity requirements and ensure consistency. The artist's signature and edition number will be added to the giclee electronically when created. Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity containing all information and retail price. Also, this framed giclee ships for free. Other floater frame options are available in white, black, gold, and walnut. For additional sizes and alternate frame options or rolled, please contact us. Artist Statement and CV: Of his work, artist Elwood Howell says, "The greater body of my work is primary landscapes and seascapes of an imaginary nature created in the studio. Most works have a generally high horizon as a focal point to lure ones eye into the simple composition. The large area below the horizon down to the base of the canvas gives the viewer's eye freedom to roam the surface. This space gives the painting life much as soil nourishes the very roots of a tree. The imagery at the horizon gives a focal point and the expanse above serves as atmosphere to set the mood. This has been a format I have used for over forty years and it still intrigues me. In the process of correlating the colors, values and markings, with the fore mentioned ink, paint, charcoal, pencil and even by sanding, a visual conversation begins between the painting and the painter. Thus, by adjusting again and again, from hints given by previously applied paint, sometimes even an abrupt and complete change over the earlier endeavors is commanded. The discourse will probably continue forward, just as communications sometimes do with people, for new thoughts can hoover about and over time a need is created for further deliberation. Thus some "completed" works have required changes years later. Sometimes discussions, of whatever nature, never seem to be finished. When painting is viewed down the road, by another person, maybe they, too, will encounter a visual voice, which probably will be of a totally different nature than has been envisioned. However, and hopefully, at that time some connection will take root and a soul will be nourished.” Awards • Honorable Mention, Guild Hall, East Hampton, NY (2003) • Best Abstract, Guild Hall, East Hampton, NY (1982) • David G.
