This unusual work was printed in 1967 on actual sandpaper for the rare catalogue "Oiseau solaire, oiseau lunaire, etincelles" and published by the Pierre Matisse Gallery in an edition of 1200. This is a richly inked impression, printed in Paris at the atelier of Daniel Jacomet. Size: 11 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches (288 x 90 mm). Not signed.

Joan Miró i Ferrà was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and ceramicist born in Barcelona. A museum dedicated to his work, the Fundació Joan Miró, was established in his native city of Barcelona in 1975, and another, the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró, was established in his adoptive city of Palma de Mallorca in 1981.
