During the late 1940's and throughout the 1950's, Picasso created a series of posters at the atelier of Mourlot Freres. The lithograph offered here was printed by Mourlot in 1959, reproducing the Picasso poster in a smaller size. Image size: 9 3/4 x 6 1/2 inches (248 x 166 mm). Sheet size: 12 x 9 inches (300 x 230 mm). Not signed.

He is known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore. Exceptionally prolific throughout the course of his long life, Picasso achieved universal renown and immense fortune for his revolutionary artistic accomplishments, and became one of the best-known figures in 20th-century art. The total number of artworks he produced has been estimated at around 50,000.
