1980s

About the Item

Free Horses is a beautiful lithograph realized by Agostino Cancogni in the 1980s. Hand-watercolored lithograph on paper. Unique specimen. Personally colored by the artist and hand-signed on the lower right margin. Technique bottom left: litografia colorata a mano. Dimensions: cm 70 x 50. In good conditions. Original lithograph representing a couple of horses on a checkerboard floor, realized by the Italian painter and sculptor Agostino Cancogni (Forte dei Marmi, Lucca, 1950-). Provided with substantial gifts and a natural talent, Cancogni cultivated them with a passionate and visceral interest in anatomy and classic design. After going through various thematic cycles from the surreal to a Caravaggesque-inspired naturalism, he arrived at those interests of form-light-color dear to the culture of Art. His first exhibitions date back to the 1970 at the Orlando Gallery in Forte Dei Marmi, followed by many others in Italy and abroad, as well as participations in some national and international art fairs. Rai TV and private televisions, moreover, have made extensive reports on his painting. His works are in private collections in Italy, England, Germany, Arabia, Switzerland and America.
