EASIN' EM HOME by the American Western artist Conrad Schwiering, is a hand drawn limited edition lithograph(not a photo reproduction or digital print) printed using hand lithography techniques on archival Somerset paper 100% acid free. EASIN' EM HOME is a realistic Western scene depicting American cowboys crossing the river with their horses. EASIN' EM HOME is a hand crafted lithograph, printed one color a a time from hand drawn lithographic plates in shades of blue, golden tan, rust brown, yellow, orange, olive green, browns, grays and black and is not a commercially mass produced poster or digital reproduction. EASIN' EM HOME captures a scene from American cowboy life by the renowned Western landscape painter Conrad(Connie) Schwiering. Year published 1982 Edition size -200 Print size - 21.5" x 29", unframed, excellent condition, pencil signed by Conrad Schwiering Conrad Schwiering(1916-1986) was born in Boulder, Colorado and grew up in Laramie, Wyoming where he developed his lifelong love for the western landscape. As a student at the University of Wyoming, he minored in art and studied under Robert Grahame and Raphael Lillywhite. Schwiering then went to New York City to paint full time and studied at the Art Students League with Charles S. Chapman whom he greatly admired. After serving in World War II he settled in Jackson Hole,Wyoming with his wife, Mary Ethel where he established a studio in Grand Teton National Park, overlooking the Tetons. He painted and sketched outdoors daily, regardless of the weather and became best known for his dramatic scenes of the Tetons and surrounding areas. Schwiering was represented by leading galleries throughout the United States and was an extremely popular artist, selling over 1,000 paintings. In 1981, he was recognized by the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Museum with a one man exhibition and was noted for his outstanding contributions to Western art. He was also one of six artists chosen by PBS for their Profiles in American Art series (1981). Conrad Schwiering died January 26, 1986 at the age of 69 in Monterey, California while photographing and sketching on the beach. Sources: Falk, Peter, ed.     One of Their Pets (Two Farm Boys and Cow at The Watering Hole) By Joseph Vorst (1897-1947) Signed Lower Right Edition 1/50 Lower Left Unframed: 8.5" x 11" Framed: 16" x 18.5" German-born Joseph Vorst came from Essen (born June 19, 1897). His teacher was the leading German impressionist Max Liebermann (1847-1935), who was the champion of French impressionism in Berlin. He had traveled to Barbizon and Paris to see paintings by Manet first hand, including In the Conservatory, which made its way to Berlin. Later Vorst's home town of Essen would acquire a collection of modern art in 1921, which became the Museum Folkwang, one of the earliest of its kind. Most likely to escape the Nazis, Vorst made his way to Missouri; we know that he was a member of the American Artists Congress and he signed the famous "Call" in 1936 at the group's first congress, the left-wing organization that stood up to combat fascism.
