About the Item

Dean Denney Cold Blooded 2023 Archival Pigment Print on High Quality Watercolor Paper 20 x 16 inches Edition: 40 Signed, numbered and dated by hand, lower right COA provided Dean Denney's interest in wood began as a child, spending time in his father's woodworking shop where furniture and dulcimers were crafted. Throughout his life, Dean has maintained an appreciation for and practice of woodworking. His current focus is wood turning, particularly using native wood species from naturally fallen trees. While he enjoys creating hollow forms and utility bowls, his primary passion is crafting Hōjus. A Hōju, or Houju, is a Buddhist wish-granting jewel, believed to be a charm of good fortune and a positive amulet. Dean enjoys exploring the rich history and folklore associated with these objects with each new piece he creates. In addition to his woodworking, Dean Denney is also a well-known and established tattoo artist, bringing his artistic skills and attention to detail to both his woodwork and tattoo art. Anxiety followed me. The escapist reflects and distorts its shadow world, the real, a funhouse mirror...
