Two Britany Spaniel Heads by Leon Danchin is a hand signed limited edition etching published in France and is in very good condition. The paper is slightly wavey which can be flattened with framing. paper size 19.75 x 25.50 image 15.25 x 20
Leon Danchin ....1887 - 1938.... born in Lille France began his career as an artist at the age of sixteen when he was accepted by the Salon des Artists in Paris. He eventually became known as one of the finest French animal artists specializing in birds, dogs and horses and is highly valued to this day. In his lifetime he produced over one hundred etchings and lithographs focusing mostly on the sporting life of animals in the field but not exclusively. He was also an accomplished painter and sculptor. He died at the beginning of World War II in Berques where he is buried. This print is a hand signed limited edition etching published in France and is in very good condition.

He settled in Paris after World War I and became a prolific artist well known for his watercolors and etchings of dogs getting into mischief. His images are often risque and are considered very humorous. They have been referred to as the Naughty or Dirty Dogs of Paris.
