This artwork titled "Bunter Reiter II" 1976, is an original color lithograph on wove paper by noted Italian artist Marino Marini, 1901-1980. It is hand signed and numbered 22/75 in pencil by the artist. The image size is 31.5 x 22.75 inches, sheet size is 36.75 x 26.75 inches. Published by ZWR, London. It is in excellent condition, has never been framed.
Marino Marini was a graphic artist, painter, and sculptor. Marini started as a painter and studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy.
Marini gained inspiration and critiques of his work from some of the top Italian artists working in Paris at the time, including Alberto Magnelli, Giorgio de Chirico, and Massimo Campigli. The Marino Marini Museum in Florence has more than 100 of his works on permanent display. One of his most famous pieces is the sculpture "Cavaliere," which earned more than $7 million at auction in 2010. His work is displayed in major collections and museum around the world.

Marino Marini
Marino Marini was born in Italy in 1901. Retrospectives of Marini's work took place at the Kunsthaus Zürich in 1962 and at the Palazzo Venezia in Rome in 1966. His paintings were exhibited for the first time at Toninelli Arte Moderna in Milan in 1963–64. In 1973, a permanent installation of his work opened at the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Milan, and in 1978 a Marini show was presented at the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo. Marini died in Viareggio. There is a museum dedicated to his work in Florence (in the former church of San Pancrazio); his work may also be found in museums in Italy and around the world, such as the Civica Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Milan and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. Marini's work is authenticated by the experts at the Marino Marini Foundation in Pistoia, Italy.

About the artist:
Glassmaker, sculptor and graphic artist, Marvin Lipofsky, born in 1938, received his B.F.A. degree in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois. He earned his M.S. degree, 1963, and M.F.A., 1964, in sculpture from the University of Madison, Wisconsin. There, he was one of Harvey Littleton's first graduate students working in glass.
Littleton had been the first American artist, in the 1960s, to visit Czechoslovakia, famous for its work in glass, where glass sculpture had been made since the 1950s. Marvin Lipofsky would also be an early visitor, observing there. Since that time, the artist has traveled extensively, collaborating with the world's best glass artists.
After graduation from Wisconsin, Lipofsky was hired by the University of California, Berkeley, where he introduced the second university glass program in America (Littleton was the first). Lipofsky also established the glass program at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland in 1967, the San Francisco area becoming a center for glass in the 60s and 70s because of his own work and the students produced by his teaching.
While Lipofsky may be best known for three-dimensional globe forms, he has indulged himself in the making of glass Pop Art pickles and hamburgers. He has also created multi-colored, irregular flower...
