CB Hoyo’s irreverent multidisciplinary practice—which spans painting, sculpture, and installation—approaches art-world fraud, forgery, and hype with a sense of humor. The self-taught artist, who was born in Havana and now works in Europe, layers pointed, hand-lettered provocations directly over otherwise blank canvases and recreations of famous art historical masterpieces: Hoyo’s satire often derives from his bold juxtapositions of well-known iconography with challenging, cheeky, and self-deprecating statements. The artist has exhibited in New York, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, London, and Milan, among many other cities.

CB Hoyo
CB. Hoyo was born in 1995 in Havana, Cuba. At a young age, he immigrated to the Dominican Republic and now lives in Europe. His artistic process began as a child, when he started interpreting the world through his paintings. Over the past few years, his work has increased in stature. A self-trained artist, CB Hoyo continually produces works that celebrate life itself. Fresh, colorful, and fun are three words that easily describe his creations. Working with any medium on any material, the artist uses a mixture of art historical trends but always incorporates his unique voice. CB Hoyo is making a proper mark on the current art scene. Some of his works are already exhibited in private and public collections in 6 continents.

Bashful is a limited edition print by Simon Dry. Limited edition print of the original ‘Bashful’ Pink Shrimp Sweet image by Simon Dry. The first print onto Fabriano paper is over painted in white by Simon and then over printed again to create a uniquely textured hand finished surface. Each print becomes a richly coloured and individual piece of art in a limited edition of 50, signed and numbered by the artist.
Simon Dry trained as a graphic designer, graduating with a BA (Hons) from Ravensbourne College of Art & Design. He has run Drydesign in London, Dublin and Suffolk, using skills learned in this time to create SweetArt along with his wife, Vic.
