Original poster of the 80s of the Alcazar of Paris.
In 1968, Jean-Marie Rivière, future director of the Paradis Latin, opened the Alcazar, a cabaret where transformist shows and "feathered" revues were offered. The establishment was connected to the "Rock'n Roll Circus" nightclub where Jim Morrison died of an overdose in July 1971.
After the dinner, where up to 750 people are served, the show begins, followed by a cancan revue; transvestites, Brazilian ballets... Duke Ellington celebrated his 70th birthday in January 1970 in front of Maurice Chevalier.
The Alcazar is now a restaurant with 180 seats. It is a large space topped by a glass roof 12 meters high and a mezzanine that houses a bar. The Alcazar also offers a private lounge and a club installed in the former Rock'n Roll Circus.
