1980s

About the Item

Oriental Musicians is a beautiful artwork realized by the Italian artist Andrea Quarto in the 1980s. Hand-watercolored lithographic artist's proof. Unique specimen. Personally watercolored by the artist and hand-signed on the lower right margin. Bottom left: prova unica. Fascinating lithograph representative of Andrea Quarto's original style, portraying a group of three Oriental female musicians. Dimensions: cm 70 x 50. In perfect conditions. Delicate and suggestive artwork realized by Andrea Quarto (Lucca, 1959-), one of the most valid and original contemporary artists. After his first training in Tuscany, Quarto enriched his art on a journey made when he was 26, crossing the Sahara desert with a caravan of nomads who in 50 days brought him from Morocco to Timbuktù, Mali. This experience was very important for him and deeply influenced his art. Within a few years, the young painter passed from the solemn stillness of the desert to the inner vitality of the oases and then to the teeming vegetations emerging arrogantly from the sand.
