About the Item

Le Paradis et la Péri is a wonderful black and white lithograph on China paper applied, realized in 1901 by the French artist Henri Fantin-Latour (Grenoble, 1836- Buré 1906). From Robert Schumann’s "Das Paradies und die Peri" series. Signed on plate on lower left margin. In excellent condition with traces of previous gluing to the verso, and some sporadic stains on the recto on the edges, and some darker line in correspondence of the previous passepartout. One copy of this wonderful original print is preserved in the Collection of National Gallery of Art, Washington. Reference: Hédiard, Germain and Leonce Benedite.
