This exact subject is in the permanent collection of the Portland Art Museum (OR). Root also has works in the McNay Art Museum, San Antonio, and the Smithsonian Museum American Art Museum, Washington, DC.
Root is especially noted for her draftsmanship -- her ability to achieve such delicate grays on a lithographic stone. At the same time she isn't afraid to stand back and let the paper itself play a role.
This subject was published by Associated American Artists in 1982 in an edition of 250 impressions. The reference is Windisch & Cole 2565. It is signed, titled, and numbered, in pencil. Also, somehow it reads 'big.' It really packs a lot into straight forward composition.
