About the Item

John Shrehane is from England originally but spent many years working in Italy. His practice brings together an energy and elegance that is unique. John says, “I like to express emotive and provocative ideas through impactful mediums that challenge and add to the delivery of a piece. Whilst I’ve painted and sculpted for most of my life, a return to London inspired me to begin my adventure as an established artist. I often try to put ideas in their boldest form and have recently gravitated to a hybrid approach of silk screen printing and hand painting, to bring together an abstract and expressionistic style using impasto and brush work, with the considered line detailing that silk screen can bring to a piece. The result delivers an energy and uniqueness with a making process that encompasses all I enjoy in putting paint to paper.”
