About the Item
This artwork titled "Vorpal I Trust You" (Referring to Vorpal Gallery in New York) c.1990, is an original etching on Wove paper by noted Mexican artist Jose Esteban Martinez, b.1951. It is hand signed in pencil by the artist. The plate mark (image) size is 11.65 x 8.55 inches, sheet size is 15.25 x 13 inches. It is in excellent condition, has never been framed.
About the artist:
He was born on July 18, 1951, he lived in Cuernavaca, Morelos, until he was eight years old, when he arrived in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, where he lives until now. The renowned painter who studied Visual Sciences and Arts at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (1969-1973). His painting is characterized by vivid Mexican colors and motifs, with the intention that no one who admires his work has the slightest doubt of his nationality, especially that of his land, Fresnillo. The Zacatecan has held solo exhibitions in the US cities of New York, San Francisco, and Miami, as well as Rome, Madrid, Paris, and Buenos Aires. In Mexico, he has also presented his work in places such as the country's capital, in Monterrey, Guadalajara and Oaxaca. In addition, Martínez has participated in various group exhibitions in Mexico, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, Japan and Israel, among other countries. Collectors of Martinez's work include such figures as Steven Spielberg, Don Johnson, Robin Williams, Terry Gilliam, Geffen Records, and Rickie Lee Jones. Illustrator of children's publications for the dissemination of science and technology; He was the initiator and illustrator of the children's encyclopedia "Colibrí"; He was at ILCE and was the creator of the educational television series "Onda Libros", "Los cuentos del Tlacuache" and "Siguiendo la historia".
