Lucien Joseph Simon
Les Marguillers - Original Lithograph by L- J. Simon in the Early 20th Century

Early 20th Century

About the Item

Les Marguillers is a contemporary artwork relized by the French artist Lucien Joseph Simon in the early years of the 20th century. Color litograph signed on plate on the lower left margin of the plate. Dimensions: cm 38 x 48. In good conditions. Beautiful artwork by Lucien Joseph Simon (1861-1945), a French painter, draftsman, watercolorist and litographer. He is counted among the Naturalist and Intimate artists, and the Post-Impressionism movement. However, he never had anything in common with the artistic currents of his time: he was never an impressionist in the full sense and refused both Cubism and the Dadaist movement. His works are known and exhibited all over the world, such as the Museums of Boston and Philadelphia, the National Museum of Fine Arts of Argentina, private collections in Japan (Matsukata collection), and also various European museums.
