About the Item

Nude of Woman is a mixed colored offset print after the Sicilian artist Renato Guttuso. Good condition. Image Dimensions: 23 x 31 cm. Hand-signed on the lower right margin. Renato Guttuso (Bagheria, Palermo 1912 - Rome,1987) was a famous Italian painter of the 20thcentury. Guttuso, born in a small town in Sicily, started painting when he was only 13. In 1938, he had his first solo exhibition in Rome. He founded the artistic movement "Fronte nuovo delle Arti" in 1947. After the war, he continued painting in his most realistic style, referring to contemporary political themes. Beginning in 1950, Guttuso took part in the Venice Biennal many times and he held numerous solo shows in many museums and galleries in both Europe and America. Good conditions except for very light yellowing of paper along the margins.
