Kitaj, R. B. FIRST SERIES - SOME POETS. Marlborough AG, Schellenburg, FL, 1970. Number 69 of the edition of 70 (there were about 15 additional proofs for the Artist, the Printer, and hors Commerce). Very large folio (31 x 23 inches) black paper-covered clamshell box containing Title Page and ten color screenprints by Kitaj, made between and 1966 and 1969, each devoted to a poet associated with Black Mountain College. Printed at Kelpra Studio, London. The poets include Auden, Creeley, Dorn, Duncan, McClure, Olson, Wieners, Feldman, McDiarmid and Rexroth. Printed on various papers on sheets of various sizes, the largest of which is 22 5/8 x 30 5/8 inches. A few wrinkles at sheet edges, else fine throughout.
