About the Item
"Greatest Supper" is inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper". Japanese artist Shiro Utafusa converts the concept of Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper" to more joyful and pleasant moment. Every curly hair boy shares food and chat together, no more scheming but more supporting each other.
Shiro Utafusa was motivated via the drawing class while he studied the second years of design course. In the third year, he started doodling the character “Curly Hair Boy” in his notebook. After graduating in 2007, he travelled around many countries including Australia, Indonesia, Singapore and Italy. He told his journeys on canvas which became wonderful adventures of the Curly Hair Boy. In his paintings always can see one or several curly hair boys hold sunflowers. A single sunflower expresses the hope. His painting is to share happiness, hopes and love around the world.
He explored and learnt different styles of paintings, experimented contemporary western painting and traditional Japanese painting. He finally reached to the level of professionalism in both of these techniques and developed his own style. He held many solo and group exhibitions in Japan, participated some exhibitions in Taiwan and Australia. Currently he is working at his studio in Northern Japan.
