H.C. silkscreen on 4-color paper "The King," signed Antonio Thellung, a contemporary artist who repeated chess subjects at length in his production, to the point of making them an emblem of his oeuvre. A painter, sculptor and writer (to limit ourselves to artistic activities), Thellung has always been fascinated by chess figures, which he repurposed in various pictorial and sculptural modulations, always mysterious, sacred and elegant in their sinuous lines between Art Nouveau and Art Nouveau. Just as Giorgio Morandi used bottles to bring us into a macrocosm through his glassy microcosm, so Thellung used chess to project us into an enigmatic world where nostalgia and irony coexist
