Original KING of the CONGO vintage movie poster, US 1-sheet. (The Mighty THUNDA). 1952 Chap. US 1 sheet. Chapter 1 "Mission of Menace". Linen-backed one-sheet film poster. NSS: 52/9801. Most important is that this is the 1st, Chapter 1 in this series.
"King of the Congo" is a 1952 film serial starring Buster Crabbe, best known for portraying Flash Gordon. The serial was directed by Spencer Gordon Bennet and produced by Sam Katzman. It was one of the many adventure serials popular during the golden age of cinema, often featuring a heroic protagonist facing various challenges and dangers across multiple chapters.
In "King of the Congo," Buster Crabbe plays a character named "Larry Trent" who finds himself in the heart of the African jungle. The plot revolves around Larry Trent's attempts to thwart a villainous plot, often involving lost treasure, ancient civilizations, or other exotic elements commonly found in adventure serials of the time.
