Hommage à A. Ardail is a beautiful black and white etching on paper, realized by the French artist Charles Courtry (1846-1897).
Of little dimensions but high finesse, this modern artwork representing a musician playing a trumpett announcing the artist A. Ardail, is in excellent conditions and reveals the incredible draftsmanship of "one of the best aquafortists of the nineteenth century" s the Bénézit Dictionary presents him.
Charles Courtry (1846-1897)
The French engraver illustrated various French journals, such as the Gazette des Beaux-Arts, The Artist, the Universal Museum and Paris etching and has a very wide artistic productions. He was named Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honor.
