‘Silver Sea’ is an energetic sea landscape scene with a blustery and stormy atmosphere cutting through the composition. this image was taken on the Scottish Fife coastline where the reflective sunlight turns the sea into liquid metal.
Katie Hallam says: “Technology consumes us all in today’s society. I am interested in the relationship we have with all digital technologies and as a Photographer I am intrigued in exploring the construction and deconstructing of digital image data, coding, pixels and the ‘glitches’ that can occur in our technological experiences. My collections explore the question: Is it the technology itself that is the cause of ‘the beautiful error’ or our own hand that forces the interruption? My photographs are rewritten, deliberately corrupted and then played with some more through processes which stem from computer hardware, apps, operating systems and data coding. The results are unique and random and often give an appreciated aesthetic that encourage viewers to capture otherwise unnoticed details through pixels, colour and composition and clearly please those who are excited about technology itself. Whether or not you accept a glitch or an error in technology as an art form, glitches themselves are short-lived, unless captured and displayed and it’s my passion as an artist to do just that.

Metropolis (Green) is a limited edition neo Dadaist print by Andy Mercer. “A work from my Metropolis series.”
Discover new original artworks by Andy Mercer with Wychwood Art. Artist Andy Mercer blurs the boundaries between graphic and ‘traditional’ art. He began experimenting with creating art digitally in 2006 and since then has been part of a group of artists who have embraced the internet and incorporated digital technology into their creative process. Andy Mercer sees no distinction between art created digitally and conventional methods. “We don’t describe music created digitally as “digital music”; it’s all just music. I think the same applies to art.” The former chair...

City of Surprises, Cityscape Art, Contemporary Minimalist London Art, Line Art
By Michael Wallner
Located in Deddington, GB
City of Surprises is created from an original photograph taken from Greenwich Park. It features one of my favourite views of the London skyline - boasting some of the city’s most famous landmarks in a single line with one small difference - for legal reasons. The London Eye, Shard, BT Tower, St Paul’s Cathedral, and the Cheesegrater are all there, alongside one building that I’ve been asked not to feature in my work by its lawyers. Can you spot it? I love the shapes of the view’s outline so I have replaced the building that shall not be named with the head of shark. The ‘new’ London skyline is then laser-cut into gold mirror. City of Surprises is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 3 weeks.
Michael Wallner has artworks for sale online and in our gallery with Wychwood Art. Michael has spent more than twenty years in the media industry working on entertainment programmes, talk shows, documentaries, animations and a children’s novel. But creating original and innovative art is his true passion. His latest work celebrates the beauty of the city through the shapes, outlines and colours that define its character. London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, Paris and Dubai all feature in Michael’s portfolio. The art is created by digitally manipulating and colouring his own photographs to produce unusual prints on aluminium, reclaimed wood, brass, even 1930’s copper-lite windows. He also creates neon, magnetic, and L.E.D installations. The metal pieces are printed on very thin sheets of brushed aluminium, giving the work an etched appearance. Michael works out of his studio at Wimbledon Art...

Four Koa Wood Framed 18th C. Engravings from Captain Cook's 3rd Voyage Journal
By John Webber
Located in Alamo, CA
A grouping of four framed engravings of Hawaii, Tahiti, Tonga and Vancouver Island from the atlas of the official British Admiralty sanctioned journal of Captain Cook's 3rd Voyage entitled "A Voyage to the Pacific Ocean Undertaken by the Command of His Majesty, for Making Discoveries in the Northern Hemisphere", published upon completion of the voyage in London in 1784 by Strahan & Cadell. These engravings were made from drawings by John Webber (1752-1793), who was the artist on Captain James Cook's 3rd and final voyage of discovery. The set of engravings includes: "A Canoe of the Sandwich Islands, the Rowers Masked", Plate 65 in the atlas; "A Dance in Otaheite" (Tahiti), Plate 28; "King of the Friendly Islands" (Tonga), plate 20; "Inside of a House in Nootka Sound" (Canada), plate 42.
These engravings are professionally framed in Koa wood, the same wood as was used to make the canoes of the ancient Hawaiians. Koa wood is legendary in Hawaii. Not only is this amazing wood native to Hawaii, but it is known for the deep rich colors and varied grain pattern. Koa has an honored heritage in Hawaii and is highly revered and sacred. The word “koa” means “warrior” in Hawaiian. The warriors of King Kamehameha the Great, created canoes and weapons from a wood plentiful on the Big Island of Hawaii. This wood became synonymous with the warriors themselves, and it became known as koa.
These four engravings would make a wonderful grouping for a display of 2, 3 or 4 prints. They may be purchased separately or in groups on 1stDibs. Their listing Reference #'s are: LU117324682432, LU117324682022, LU117324684052 and LU117324684062. A discount is available for a grouping depending on the number of items included.
Hawaii was discovered by Captain Cook (1728-1779) during this voyage. Hawaii was originally called The Sandwich Islands in honor of The Earl of Sandwich...
