French Tourism Advertising poster featuring a detail from the 15th Century Moulins Triptych by Jean Hey (or Jean Hay), the Master of Moulins. The original triptych is located in the Moulins Cathedral.
The story behind the Moulins Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Moulins, is one steeped in history and architectural significance. Construction of the cathedral began in the 15th century, under the patronage of Anne of France, daughter of King Louis XI. The cathedral reflects the transition from Gothic to Renaissance architectural styles, with its intricate stone carvings, elegant vaulted ceilings, and towering spires.
