Circa 1940
About the Item
Splendid poster realized around the years 1940 by Julio Garcia to promote tourism in the magnificent region of the Basque Country.
The Basque country is a region apart in Europe: a territory straddling two countries, France and Spain, with an ancestral but very much alive language and a cultural identity still very much marked.
This poster shows the tuna fishing, which is an emblematic fishery of the Basque Country. It was made to promote a fishing competition.
