Rare original vintage poster for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. This version has the Constellation flying in the sky behind an old sailing schooner. Great detail in the ship, which is similar to the other schooners used in the K. L. M. Posters over the years. Linen backed in very good condition, ready to frame. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, often referred to as KLM, is the flag carrier airline of the Netherlands. It is one of the oldest continuously operating airlines in the world, with its official founding date on October 7, 1919. KLM is known for its rich history and has played a significant role in developing the global aviation industry. K.L.M. is the oldest airline in the world, still operating under its original name and flying Dutchman Royal Dutch Airlines. The Lockheed Constellation airplane, often called the "Connie," was a prominent American propeller-driven airliner developed by Lockheed Corporation. It entered service in the early 1940s. The Constellation was known for its distinctive triple-tail design and graceful, dolphin-shaped fuselage. It was one of the first pressurized commercial aircraft, allowing for higher cruising altitudes and improved passenger comfort. KLM was one of the airlines that operated the Lockheed Constellation. The aircraft was well-suited for long-haul routes, and KLM utilized it on transatlantic services, contributing to the expansion of intercontinental air travel. Both KLM and the Lockheed Constellation are significant contributors to the history and development of commercial aviation, representing milestones in technology, design, and global air travel.
