ANDERS ALDRIN (Swedish /American 1889 – 1970) THE SUNFLOWER ca. 1935 (Newark Museum 9) Color woodcut, edition c. 150. Signed, unnumbered, but dedicated. 16” x 12”. Full margins. Aldrin prints have many color variants. Generally good condition. Small glue stain in margin at image right edge. Repaired tear along upper sheet edge, very slight foxing in lower image. Aldrin worked in Santa Barbara. He was associated with Frank Morley Fletcher who taught Printmaking there after leaving England to be head of the Santa Barbara School of Fine Arts. Aldrin' technique reflects that influence.
