The Landscape of Roman Countryside is an original etching artwork realized after Charles Coleman (1807, Yorkshire - 1874, Roma) in 1992. Signed on the plate, the rare edition of only 25 copies. Good condition. This artwork is from the album "A series of subjects peculiar to Campagna Romana and Pontine marches" designed from nature and etched by C. Coleman between 1848 to 1850. In 1992 a new edition was made in only 25 copies stamped edited " Stabilimento Tipografico Staderini" by Francesco Piccolo in collaboration by Gallery of Edieuropa di Roma. Having arrived in Rome from Paris in 1831 to study Italian art, in 1832 she exhibited Giovinetta dressed to the Greek custom at the Exhibition of the Amateur and Cultural Society. Painted landscapes of the Roman countryside and views of Rome, inaugurating a genre that will have wide diffusion in the last years of the 19th century. In 1850 he collected in a volume the series of fifty-three etchings, engraved between 1848 and 1850, related to subjects also treated in painting. Certainly, in contact with N. Costa since the 1950s, he was considered as one of the forerunners of the Roman Campaign School.
