SUMMER RUSH is an original limited edition lithograph from the Sacred Garden Series of works by the British artist David Leverett (1938-2020), printed using hand lithography techniques on archival printmaking paper 100% acid free. SUMMER RUSH is a bright and bold multi colored abstract landscape portraying a blazing sunlit sky over a colorful patchwork expanse of rolling hills and mountains in vibrant shades of deep greens, dark browns, bright reds, burgundy, coral, orange, yellow, blues, lavender, white, black. Summer Rush is a superb quality handmade lithograph by David Leverett, a fine British painter and printmaker whose works have hung in galleries all across the world including the Tate.

About the artist:
Known for his abstracts in acrylic as well as for his collages, David Leverett studied at Nottingham College of Art, 1957-61, and at the Royal Academy Schools from 1961-64. David Leverett was working as a designer and scenic design assistant before painting and teaching from 1965. In 1966 he had the first of a series of shows at the Redfern Gallery, London. David Leverett has taught widely in England and abroad and he was a Visiting Artist at the Royal Academy Schools, the Royal College of Art and at Hornsey College of Art, London. David Leverett has participated in many significant exhibitions including: 1966, Young Contemporaries 1967, John Moores Liverpool Exhibition 1968, Britain Painting and Sculpture, Whitechapel Art Gallery, London 1990, Royal Academy bicentenary exhibition 1990, Sacred Gardens, Redfern Gallery, London Public collections include: Arts Council of Great Britain, London Tate, London Victoria & Albert Museum, London
Artist Statement - "My work reflects a continuing preoccupation with landscape, partly to affirm our identity within the world we inhabit and partly to draw attention to the remarkable dynamics of the natural environment on which we depend. It is a primary dependency that we have lived with and celebrated in many ways in our various histories. Metaphor and myth run through the substrata of my images, giving viewers the opportunity to travel in their imagination as they choose."
