A handsome engraving of Worcester College from a Beaumont Street still under construction. The street was laid out in the 1820s and 1830s in the Regency style and acts as a charming approach to Worcester's facade.
George Hollis was a well-known Oxford-born artist and engraver. He studied art and worked primarily in Oxford. Many of his engravings, which often depicted the colleges, were published by James Ryman, a print-seller on the High Street. Hollis' views were published separately in a single volume in 1839.
