TOP ROW is an original landscape collagraph print by Jay Seabrook. I am always inspired by the landscape around me and I love the soft colours in this print. It is part of a very small limited edition of 10 and the one pictured is number 2.
Jay Seabrook, artist and printmaker, is available for sale online and in our art gallery at Wychwood Art. Jay Seabrook is a Rutland based printmaker, she was born in Leicester and studied art at North Staffs Polytechnic before eventually changing careers to accountancy. The true embodiment of a “creative accountant” – she is an accountant by day, artist by night! Jay is inspired by the rolling Rutland landscape and portrays the countryside in a slightly skewed and impressionistic way. Hard to reach places which don’t quite exist are a recurring theme. The soft colours and embossed textures of the collagraph process lend themselves well to her colourful landscapes. Jay is a skilled collagraph printmaker, very sure of her style and she produces small limited editions of her work. She adds watercolour details to the prints to add focus. The plate is inked by hand for every print, so each impression varies slightly within the edition. This makes each of them truly original.
