About the Item

“My eyes were made to erase all that is ugly”. -Raoul Dufy Raoul Dufy’s depictions for an instant charmer of a "medical book" illustrates the myriad benefits of wine, while being splashed by accompanying literature from a medical physician. However, his illustrations did not depict people drinking wine, rather images of the effects of wine civilized health and happiness. Born in Le Harve, Dufy began his studies there, taking night classes at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts. He became one of the most important Paris period artists next to Matisse, Braque and Gauguin.
