Excerpted from the folio, This album, the fourth in a series dedicated to Mr. Pierre Lévy's collection, was printed in M examples on Arches vélin. The printing was finished on November 4, 1969 by Mourlot for lithographs of the canvases of Raoul Dufy, and by Fequet and Baudier for the unpublished text by Marcelle Berr de Turique. Fernand Mourlot, Paris 1969. RAOUL DUFY (1877-1953) was a French painter associated with the Fauvist movement. He gained recognition for his vibrant and decorative style, which became popular in various forms, such as textile designs, and public building decorations. Dufy is most remembered for his artwork depicting outdoor social gatherings. In addition to painting, he was skilled in various other fields, including drawing, printmaking, book illustration, scenic design, furniture design, and planning public spaces. Dufy was in the milieu of Matisse and Picasso.
