René Francois Ghislain Magritte (1898 - 1967) was a Belgian painter and major figure of the surrealist movement. He focused his attention on ordinary objects, which he depicted outside their everyday contexts, creating an unexpected encounter for his audience. Through the surrealistic contextualization of his objects an object finds new meaning, depending on the surrounding the painter placed it. The painting "Every Day" is an illustration of Magritte's artist stance and vision.
