"Evening II" is a mezzotint engraving created by Robert Kipniss in 2008. Printed in an edition of 60, this impression is signed in pencil and inscribed “8/60.” The paper size is 12 ½ x 11” (31.8 x 27.9 cm). With mezzotint engraving, the artist works from dark to light. Mezzotints are known for rich velvety blacks. Robert Kipniss prints are in over 70 museums worldwide and numerous private collections. Since his first show in 1951, he has had more than 180 one-artist exhibitions. Kipniss has been elected to the National Academy in New York, NY, and The Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers in London, England. He is also a member of the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA) and the Century Association. “My art is an inner-motivated, emotion-filled outpouring which uses the imagery of the landscape much as a poet would use words. “ - Kipniss
