The Cotswold escarpment is traversed by many ancient tracks used over the centuries, each with a story to tell. Many are historical trade routes, such as the Salt Way and the White Way or earlier still, the Jurassic Way. Spending time in the landscape and researching the history of the area Sarah seeks to explore our connection with the natural world, the liminality and cyclical nature of time and the sense that people have worked on and travelled across this landscape for centuries. Sarah makes her images using in-camera multiple exposures combined with other techniques including mark marking. These photographic images are individually hand printed using archival quality pigment inks on Hahnemühle fine art paper. The image size includes an appropriately sized white border where each print is signed, titled and numbered by the artist.
