About the Item
This special Limited canvas Edition ( #8 of 20 ) is made to the highest Museum archival quality , hand painted on Giclée printed Canvas Edition.
It's hand painted finishing by the artist Shizico Yi, with original brushstroke and oil paints on 60% of the painting surface, in otherworld, the process of the finishing made each edition as unique as an original, each has slightly varied brushstroke by Shizico Yi on the day of her painting process. It is also signed and numbered by Shizico Yi.
-A Limited Edition of only 20 is offered as an alternative to this original piece.
About the painting:
The original oil painting was painted in plain air in Shizico's garden. She documented the memory of her late partner, who enjoyed his cigarettes over the years in that particular corner of the garden.
This painting is a part of the project, [ Constant Gardener ] which artist has been developing since 2015.
[ Constant Gardener ] is an ongoing project in memory of artist's late dog and late partner. In 2015, Shizico Yi started gardening to make a garden for Favour to recover from a neurologic illness. After Favour died aged 16, this garden project continued as Favour Memorial Garden in memory of the loss of one's loved ones.
Later on, alongside gardening, Shizico Yi started a series of drawings and plain air paintings in this Memorial Garden, trying to keep the blooms and seasons frozen in time.
Note about the framing:
This Limited Edition is hand painted finish, hand stretched over a wooden stretcher, therefore it doesn't need to be framed. Of cause, you can frame it with your local framer, if you need advice on framing, just give us a shout.

Dr. Shizico Yi is a London based artist, working on installations, films and paintings; the documentary nature of her work often concerns the loss, repetition, the everyday subject and memories. With a design and film background, Yi combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large.
Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK and a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL, London. She is also the winner of Women Film Makers: Best Shorts Competition 2013, Los Angeles, USA.
