About the Item
Shizico painted plein air ; this painting is a part of Summer Bloom Series, it is Shizico Yi's ongoing project in every summer at her garden. She began gardening in 2015 to create a large, healing space for her then ill, elderly dog. After her beloved Labrador passed away, this memorial garden became a source of inspiration for her art and a place of solace as she coped with grief.
Through paintings, time is frozen on her canvas as she treasures the memories of loved ones with the offering of nature.
“Dahlias Bloom” is a Delux Limited Edition produced by Shizico Yi, London, 2024; made with archival pigment, Giclée, on durable aluminium panel, specially hand painted with original paint in highlights by Artist, Shizico Yi, signed at the front , numbered and signed at the back.
This is the 1st of the only Ten Deluxe Limited Editions. We assure you that the Edition was made in the presence of GSY Studio.

Size: 30 x 40cm. Made on a 3 mm high-quality aluminium panel with a matte finish.

About the Artist
Dr. Shizico Yi, the UK artist working on installations, films and paintings; the documentary nature of her work often concerns about the loss, repetition, the everyday subject and memories .
With design and film background, Shizico combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large.
Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK 2017; she had completed a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL. London. She is also the Winner of Women Film Makers: Best Shorts Competition 2013 Los Angels. USA.

Shizico Yi's work aims to explore artistic obsession through repetitive documentation of the domestic and the everyday.
