Manfred Rapp
Manfred Rapp, born in Germany in 1956, began honing his artistic skills early in life, pursuing formal training as a graphic artist by the age of sixteen. He completed an apprenticeship at a West German firm, which laid the foundation for his career in design and illustration. In the years that followed, he worked on projects ranging from children’s television programs and books to designing posters for internationally acclaimed performers like Diana Ross, Barry Manilow, and Phil Collins. He later expanded his technical skills at Messerschmidt Boelko Blohm Air Industries, drafting aircraft engine plans and aerodynamics concepts. During his early career, Manfred took study trips to Paris, Rome, and Venice, immersing himself in the works of the Great Masters. At twenty-three, he enrolled at the Art Academy of Konstanz, where he studied under Czechoslovakian artist Professor Karel Hodr, graduating in 1985 with a Master’s Degree in Fine Art. Influenced by the French Impressionists, Manfred developed a distinctive style that blends Impressionism with the glazing techniques of the Old Masters. His body of work includes rural and urban landscapes, as well as figurative pieces, all marked by a balance of classical technique and personal vision.

In 2009, his cartoons led to worldwide media attention and the largest protest against the New York Post in it's 200+ yr history with many politicians calling for his arrest. Sean's cartoons linking Freddy Ferrer to Al Sharpton "helped decide the 2001 mayoral race" ( New York magazine, March 21-28, 2005) and were mentioned in the NYC Democrat mayoral candidate's concession speech (November 7, 2001). In 2018, New Mexico’s entire congressional delegation condemned Sean for an immigration cartoon based on Trump's State of the Union speech that appeared in the Albuquerque Journal. (New York Times, 02/08/18)
A sold out one man art show at the Limner Gallery led to his largest commission -- creating the altar painting for the Church of St. Agnes in NYC. Many of his friends at the NY Post, were the models for this painting.

Never Trump
By Laura Benjamin
Located in New York, NY
Original. Part of Candy Wrapper Collage series in Pop Art style. Natural wood frame. Homage to Trump.
About the Artist:
Benjamin received her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the American University in Washington D.C. and her Master’s Degree in Art Education from New York University. In addition she received an Associate’s Degree in Textile Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology and studied at The Art Student’s League, The Parson’s School of Design and The New School.
Benjamin taught art for 34 years. While on sabbatical from teaching she studied textile design. For the next 15 years she continued to teach, as well as freelance as a textile designer in both home furnishings and the apparel markets.
In the mid 90’s her focus turned towards computer graphics, and as an art educator, she incorporated this into her curriculum. She was awarded for a “successful practice in crossing the digital divide through art and technology” by the United States Department of Education.
Her early works were oils and acrylics. During the late 60’s her interest was in pure abstraction. Pop Art and the human figure began to interest her in the early 70’s. Gradually, Benjamin was drawn to experimenting with mixed media. In the 80’s there was the influence of a career in textile design that moved her towards a more decorative style.
In the 90’s, she became involved in the teaching of computer graphics. This was to have a profound influence in aiding and developing a more recent “POP” style. She began to incorporate into her paintings, torn pieces of digital printouts of her subjects.
“The part of me that is the “digital artist” became very inspired by the use of the computer as a tool with which I could manipulate my subject and its color energy. The “fine artist” in me was then able to incorporate these concepts into a new image on my canvas. Having always had an interest in mixed media, my current work is now a combination of both POP and Collage. Since 2008 I have been creating a body of work dubbed “Candy Wrapper Collage”. A juried show’s theme, “gluttony”, challenged me to ultimately explore my POP figures through a new medium….candy wrappers!
Razor blades are my new paintbrushes and candy wrappers are my new paints. Utilizing torn, cut and expired candy wrappers and their packaging, I render my subjects in diverse and colorful forms. I create representational images of celebrities and pop-culture objects...
