Renee's Breakfast
Located in Brooklyn, NY
"Renee's Breakfast" depicts a simple image of three eggs on a plate with bacon, a breakfast so familiar to many, and serves as a poignant reminder of the passage of time and the transience of even the most ordinary moments. Just as the morning sun rises and sets, casting shifting shadows and changing the hues of the yolks, so does life move forward, never standing still. The sizzling bacon mirrors life's moments, fleeting and ephemeral, yet leaving behind a savory residue of memories. In this seemingly mundane tableau, we find an allegory for the ceaseless march of time, urging us to savor each bite, each moment, for they are as precious as the breakfast on our plate. John Kato...

Abstract Landscape India Edition 3/5 Linocut Print Nature Red Navy Primitive
Located in Norfolk, GB
There is a natural and raw understanding in Mukesh Sharma’s prints that both depict, and are influenced by, the Rajastani communities of his home town in rural India. In these Limited Edition fine-art prints, made over a period of twenty years, we are offered the colours of India’s ancient land, the textures, light and the patterns that are everywhere. In the patterns of the arable fields to the jali's (carved screens) in the architecture. This work is however not romantic nor nostalgic but shows a deeper rooted need to offer a visual heritage of place, of where the artist is from and the journey that he is taking. The results are both compelling and honest. Mukesh Sharma, Frenzy M3, Lino-cut chin-coll’e on German Ivory paper Edition: 3 of 5, 2005 Image size: 50 x 33 cm / Sheet size: 79 x 55 cm Unframed 'In this work in particular I feel that a true work of art is the creation of an experience from the interaction between the human self and the outside world' Mukesh Sharma's work: It is often in childhood that paths are set for what we will become. Mukesh Sharma hails from a rural, agricultural village in Rajasthan, India. His Father is a craftsman who fixed and mended farm machinery and understood the working parts in the processes. Sharma followed in his Father’s footsteps, as is often the case in Indian families, but his was not the machines of the fields but the presses of the printing studio. Like his Father, Mukesh Sharma is fascinated with understanding how things work and how he can manipulate the metal in his hands. It is not surprising then that his medium of choice is printing. One of the most physically challenging of all the practices, it can often be physically challenging as well as technical and detailed. In his youth, Sharma would draw with stones on walls and floors. He was lucky his family encouraged this and he is grateful for his early art-training at the Jaipur School of Art but it was at the Baroda Art Department that he was introduced to the great printing traditions of Jyoti Bhatt...

Last Minute Shopping #2, digital print, archival paper, generative art
Located in Toronto, Ontario
"Last Minute Shopping #2" is a digital print on cotton rag, acid-free paper by generative artist Stephen Boyd. Including the wood frame it measures 24x24". Based on mathematical computation, the artist has programmed thousands of lines into two grid patterns that reveal textured backgrounds, moiré effects and organic shapes that allude to motion and plant growth (among other natural processes). Stephen makes generative art (not AI art) based on Organizing Principle Ratios and Emergent Structure – all of which means the artist is programming coherent visual relationships and compositional structures into every artwork. Simple rules, repeated millions of times, result in hypnotic, beautiful images. From Stephen – "I consider myself a composer for an infinite orchestra, where each instrument plays a single note that endlessly ricochets off its neighbours." Stephen Boyd is a Toronto-based artist using code as a medium for creating prints and interactive works since 2003. For the last 20 years, Stephen has explored the idea of simple patterns written in code, repeating millions of times to create beauty through emergent structure. His work for the last five years has focused on creating generative art for print and screen. Stephen's prints and installation work have been exhibited in solo and group shows. He has presented at the Marshall McLuhan Festival, Siggraph, and held an Artist-in-Residence position at Centennial College. Stephen’s influences range from early generative artists of the 1960s such as Manfred Mohr and Vera Molnár...

Her patterned, abstract paintings take advantage of the flowing effects produced by her materials…and recall the natural world, which, like her paintings, is a grand mixture of the ordered and the random.” American Artist Watercolor Magazine Mark studied at Yale and the University of California at Santa Barbara. She has received artist grants from the Arts Councils of Missouri and California and the Santa Barbara County Arts Commission and has shown in museums including The Albuquerque Museum, Los Angeles Municipal Gallery and the Palm Springs Art...

Located in Brooklyn, NY
Ltd ed archival pigment print., ed 50 Original art was created as part of Marano's"American-Dream-Land," Coney Island series and later translated to an edition. Philomena Marano has spent decades “penetrat[ing] the soul of Coney Island to reveal its twin promises of candy-colored paradise and garishly ornate nightmare,” as Ann Aptaker describes, through the prints and cut-paper collage in her “American Dream-land” series (1979-). These colorful, graphic style works evoke the energy and amusement of Coney Island through depictions of the rides, the boardwalk, clowns, and food vendors. Ms. Marano is a daughter of Brooklyn. She holds a BFA from Pratt Institute, is an intimate of the visual poetry of Coney Island, created the winning poster for the first Spirit of Brooklyn poster...
