About the Item
This poster was created for an exhibition of drawings by Pablo Picasso at the Berggruen Gallery in 1956. It was printed at the Mourlot studio, where Master Printer, Henri Deschamps reproduced the original drawing under the artist's supervision.
Like much of the work he is renowned for worldwide, the subject in this image is symbolic and represents an earlier self portrait. Works from the later years were a mixture of styles, as Picasso's means of expression was in constant flux throughout his life. Ref. Czwiklitzer # 116. Ed. 1,000.
