Signed and numbered from an edition of 50. Playful gay pride play on a Cheerios box. The text is "Queerios - Love Your Heart so you can be who you are".
Dalila Paola Mendez is a first generation Guatemalan/Salvadoran queer artist born and raised in Los Angeles. In 2015, she was 1 of 5 printmakers selected for the US/Cuba printmakers exchange through The Richardson Center for Global Exchange, Museum of Latin American Art, Self-Help Graphics & Art and Taller Grafica Experimental.
The visual images she creates whether in painting, photography, print work or film communicates stories about nature, urban environments, indigenous cultures, feminism, queerness and social justice. Prints regarding social issues, gay rights feature prominently.
Dalila went on to get her BA in International Relations at USC and upon graduating she became a Bilingual Teacher with LAUSD. Eventually she left full time teaching to follow her love of creating art.
