About the Item
Original antique drink advertising poster featuring a great illustration by Fred Money (1882-1956) of a Bollinger champagne vineyard full of farm workers picking and sorting grapes and loading horse carts with baskets marked J. Bollinger full of grapes, the rolling hills in the background. Founded in 1829, Bollinger (aka "Bolly") is a champagne house that produces sparkling wine in Ay in the Champagne region of France, fermented in oak barrels; the company has been family run since 1889 and now one of the last remaining independent Champagne houses; in 1884 Bollinger received a Royal Warrant from Queen Victoria. Chromo-lithograph. Horizontal. Good condition, restored creases, restored tears, backed on linen.
