Vicky Oldfield
Vicky Oldfield, Autumn Collection, limited edition still life print

2015

About the Item

Vicky Oldfield, ‘Autumn Collection’ is a hand coloured collograph print; the print is taken from a plate which has been collaged with a variety of textured materials. The plates are then sealed and then inked up and printed in intaglio on damp paper using an etching press. The embossed textural quality of the print is unique to this method. Collage material is added as the print goes through the press. Due to the process of Vicky Oldfield's' Prints, the editions are variable, which means each print is completely unique; all are printed on Somerset paper 300gms. The work features butterfly's, eggs in a basket, flowers in bottles, feathers and stones which signifies an overall view of the collections of autumn. Signed, titled, editioned and specified a 'unique' print all written in pencil by the artist along the bottom edge of the print. Edition of 30 unique prints. IMAGE SIZE: H:55CM X W:89.5CM SHEET SIZE: H:68CM X W:102CM

  • Le Bois de Boulogne
    By K.B. (Kyu-Baik ) Hwang
    Located in Ljubljana, SI
Original color aquatint and etching, 1980. Edition of 30 signed and numbered impressions on Arches paper. Kyu-Baik Hwang is contemporary painter and printmaker, from South Korea. He served in the military during the Korean War, and after the war he began to paint. Latter, he traveled across Europe and America and got inspired by many of their cultures and artists. Displacing ordinary objects from their original environments, typical for his works is often compared to surrealist’s art from the 20th-century. Unlike surrealists, who rejected mind control and try to show the world of the unconscious, Hwang stimulates viewers’ imagination. He presents an extra-ordinary, imaginary world through ordinary spaces and objects, using different methods from printmaking to painting. The Bois de Boulogne...
